On February 2023 marked a month to remember for the FA community! Skyclarys became the 1st FDA approved medication to help people 16 years or older! Because FA is progressive it will not help what has already been damaged, but hoping to slow down the progression. And I will take that! A week ago I started taking them! Hoping to be able to come back at some point to report no new progression updates, because no news is good news!

My name is Stephanie and I am 48 years old. I live in Fort Worth Texas. Hae a physical disability called Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) that has challenged me my whole life. No one ever said that in our life we would not have trouble, however we are given a choice on how to spend the life we have been given. This Is why I write this blog! I am on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit here in N. Texas called Camp Craig Allen! I also write their blog on here!! I love listening to audiobooks from Audible! Not a big TV watch however I love "This Is Us!" I live a God centered life! Not married and no children.

Hello Stephanie! Happy to hear the good news about the medication you will be taking. Will pray that it will help you tremendously and slow the progression. I hope you are doing well. Miss seeing you at church. I am doing good. Natasha

I thought you were too progressed like me to get a Skyclarys?

My neurologist and the pharmacist did not think so. I know girl who is older and me and pretty much same progression who is on it as well. If you read is as that anyone over 16 can be on it. It does not give a cut off age. Will help more people with less progression. I understand that.
