It Could Always Be Worse!! Part 2

Getting my Botox on!

In January 2022 I started getting Botox injections in my hands to help with the curling in of them! My insurance paid for me to get 3 of them done. So once every 3 months that is what I did! For some reason I did not get a picture after the 2nd shot. But let me show you the progress that was made from the 1st shot to the 3rd shot in June 2022!

I do not see myself getting Botox injection in the near future, never say never, but not for a while. One of the side effects for getting these is a loss of grip, which surprise surprise I got, ugh! I really really need my grip as I use it for a lot of things Like transferring, pushing, pulling, or holding on to things! I have always had good grip, but like the 80s song says,” You Don’t Know What You Got Till It’s Gone!” I Have to say that it could always be worse! I am grateful to have received all 3 of them as they have opened up my hands so much, but it does not mean anything if I cannot grip. I do hope that in due time it will be restored back to me. So in the meantime…

Something so Small!

I have been doing these grip exercises with this yellow football looking ball that has 2 fingers that you can wrap around it so that it will not fall off. I usually do 2 sets of 20 while having my my hot green tea in the morning! It works wonderful!

I also do this1 pound free weights for wrist exercise. For these I usually do 3 sets of 10: one bringing the weight up with the wrist, then moving the wrist down, and then moving them side to side! I have been doing ever since before I got the 3rd round of Botox as I knew it was becoming a big issue. I actually got these exercises from an OT intern at the gym I go to. I purchased equipment off Amazon!

I have always been stretching my hands as I do not want for them to get stuck that way! I feel like if I did not do something it would be worse! I may be wrong, but am not willing to find out! Don’t get me wrong as there are days when there are days when I just do not feel like doing any of these exercises. As soon as I get done or even in the middle of them I am glad that I did them! It seems like such a small thing to do!

Rolling to the present!

In my humble opinion they do not look too shabby! There is only one phrase left to say, IT COULD ALWAYS BE WORSE!

Left hand is stretching out while the right-hand is resting!

Rolling on, Stephanie
